Erin Axelrod is a partner and worker-owner at LIFT Economy where she accelerates ecological and justice-centered businesses in the Next Economy. She does this through client work and a 9-month online learning journey she co-founded called the Next Economy MBA with 300+ alumni. She also is the co-founder of the Force for Good Fund – a $1.1M pilot fund that invested in 13 women and POC-lead social enterprises and the co-founder of The Next Egg initiative to move the $35 Trillion in US Retirement savings into community-based solutions.

She is also the Project Director for Jonas Philanthropies Trees for Climate Health Initiative, an ambitious reforestation initiative working to grow over 10 million trees by 2025, and a seasoned expert on growing climate-focused and climate-benefiting businesses and has helped establish water conservation programs for major cities including successful greywater reuse education and installation programs. In addition to spearheading important reforestation work, Erin also leads LIFT Economy’s regenerative agriculture investor network (RAIN) and the Building Resilient Communities and Restorative Ocean Economies Field-Building Initiatives.

Erin earned her BA in Urban Studies from Barnard College, Columbia University and her Permaculture Design Certificate from Toby Hemenway. Erin lives and works in an off-grid tiny house with her partner, 14 chickens and a small herd of dairy goats. When not working, she loves plant trees, practice solar-cooking and harvest & grow wild foods to make nutrient dense foods for her friends.
